James Q. Del Rosso, DO, is Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at both the University of Nevada School of Medicine and Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition, Dr. Del Rosso serves as Dermatology Residency Director at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also in private practice in Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada. His previous appointments include Director of Dermatology Laboratory at West Florida Medical Center Clinic in Pensacola, Florida, and Head, Section of Dermatology, and Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio.

Dr. Del Rosso obtained his BS degree in pharmacy from St. John's University College of Pharmacy in Jamaica, New York, and completed his pharmacy residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his DO degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Del Rosso completed his internship at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and his dermatology residency at Atlantic Skin Disease and Skin Surgery Associates in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Del Rosso is a fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He recently served as chairman of the Environment and Drugs Committee of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Del Rosso also served as president in 2005 and is on the Board of Directors of the American Society for Mohs Surgery. From 1992 to 1995, he served on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee of the Medical Center Clinic—West Florida Regional Medical Center in Pensacola. He is currently president-elect of the American Acne & Rosacea Society and president of the Council for Nail Disorders.

Dr. Del Rosso has given numerous presentations on topics in dermatology, including proper skin care, acne, rosacea, actinic keratosis, atopic eczema, cutaneous bacterial infections and superficial and deep fungal infections. He has been published extensively in journals such as Skin and Aging, Cutis, Cosmetic Dermatology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, Expert Opinion in Pharmacotherapy, and Dermatologic Clinics. In the latter publication, Dr. Del Rosso was lead author on an article entitled "Status Report on Antibiotic Resistance: Implications for the Dermatologist" published in April 2007. Dr. Del Rosso also serves as chairperson of The Scientific Panel on Antibiotic Use in Dermatology (SPAUD).

Dr. Del Rosso is the recipient of several awards in recognition of service and accomplishments in education, including a two-time recipient of the Gold Triangle Award from the American Academy of Dermatology and the Outstanding Teacher Award from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
